Ritend's Misson

Ritend exists to carry forward a family legacy of baseball innovation — delivering knob-end bat weights that build faster, stronger, and more efficient swings. Founded by Skip Lindemann, the inventor, and his son Jakob Lindemann, Ritend is built on decades of hands-on experience, player insight, and an uncompromising belief in better training.

From our first prototype to today’s patented designs, we’re driven by a deep belief that smarter training starts at the hands. Backed by science and trusted by coaches, we help athletes of all levels develop lasting mechanics that translate to real performance.

Our mission is to reshape the way hitters train — moving away from outdated tools and toward a modern, data-informed approach that strengthens fundamentals, sharpens feel, and builds muscle memory where it matters most. We’re here for the players grinding in the cages, the coaches pushing for better results, and the programs investing in long-term development. Every product we make reflects our family's passion, technical precision, and relentless commitment to helping athletes unlock their full potential.

Founder

Skip Lindemann

Skip Lindemann is the original inventor of Ritend Bat Weights and the driving force behind its patented knob-end design. A lifelong baseball enthusiast and former player, Skip’s journey began in the early 1980s when shoulder injuries pushed him to think differently about swing training. Frustrated with traditional barrel-weighted tools, he began experimenting with counterbalance on the knob — a concept that would eventually shape the foundation of Ritend.

After years of tinkering with prototypes and testing concepts on the field, Skip partnered with engineers to bring his vision to life. His patented design was the first of its kind to shift the focus from the barrel to the hands, giving hitters a smarter way to build bat speed, improve hand path, and stay through the zone longer.

Skip’s innovation didn’t happen in a vacuum. Along the way, he collaborated with respected names in the game — including Kevin Seitzer, former MLB All-Star and current hitting coach for the Seattle Mariners, and Matt Fincher, former collegiate head coach and professional instructor. Their support helped refine Ritend’s training principles and ensured that its design met the highest standards of player development.

Decades after first experimenting with knob-end weights, Skip’s invention has become a staple in the hands of top athletes, coaches, and programs across the country. From Little League to the pros, Ritend continues to shape better hitters — one rep at a time.

President

Jakob Lindemann

Jakob Wolfgang Lindemann is the Co-Founder and President of Ritend Bat Weights, a company built on family legacy and a mission to transform the way hitters train. Raised in Broward County, Florida, Jakob grew up immersed in the culture of baseball and innovation, learning firsthand from his father Skip Lindemann — the original inventor of the patented knob-end bat weight.

Jakob leads Ritend’s evolution with a deep-rooted passion for American manufacturing and baseball. His hands-on contributions include the redesign of Ritend’s original aluminum prototype into a compact, high-performance steel version. He also is in charge of developing the newest wood-handle prototype, launching later this year. Together, these innovations represent Jakob’s commitment to product integrity, functionality, and feel — all while keeping manufacturing close to home.

As President, Jakob oversees Ritend’s operations, creative direction, and long-term strategy. With a player’s mindset and a builder’s eye, he ensures that every product Ritend releases is grounded in science, trusted by coaches, and ready for the cage or the field.

Driven by the belief that smarter training starts at the hands, Jakob continues to push the Ritend mission forward: to provide athletes and coaches with tools that improve mechanics, increase bat speed, and deliver real, game-ready results — all while staying true to the company’s American-made values and family foundation.
